Fenugreek

The history of domestication of fenugreek probably begins in the Middle East. The seeds of the medicinal and aromatic plants were already popular in antiquity and pharaohs were buried with them to join him in his journey to the afterlife. The seeds have always been said to have great healing properties, especially in relation to respiratory and digestive problems. The tart, bitter taste enriches especially dishes of Indian cuisine today – not only as a component of curry mixes.
